Recent career history

Chris developed, managed and led the CFD team in the Health & Safety Laboratory, HSE, for over 12 years. The direction, oversight and technical control of the activities of this team were Chris’ responsibilities, including business development, project and staff management.

Early career

Chris first gained experience in CFD in the Aerospace sector, following graduation as a Mechanical Engineer from UMIST. He returned to academia to undertake an experimental MSc by research, generating data for CFD model validation. In this Chris gained important hands-on experience in a range of flow measurement techniques, as well as rig commissioning. It provides him with a firm foundation for advising on experimental design for CFD validation.

He then took up a post of research assistant and subsequently gained his PhD in CFD from UMIST. This research provided him with in-depth knowledge of the physical and numerical basis of industrial CFD.
